Welgegund Heritage Wines Reflect on a Good Year

  • Post category:Wines

For the team at Welgegund Heritage Wines, 2019 was a year that truly reflected the meaning of “well-bestowed”.

We are delighted that our two 2017 niche cultivar wines, Welgegund Heritage Wines’ Grenache Noir and our Cinsault, were awarded ‘outstanding’ ratings by renowned British Master of Wine and wine critic, Tim Atkin, earning 93 and 91 points respectively.

The quality of these two special releases, from low-yielding dryland bush vines, was also endorsed by the authoritative Platter’s Wine Guide with the awarding of 4 stars for the Grenache and 4½ stars for the Cinsault.

Additionally, the other two wines in our portfolio, also produced from ancient dryland bush vines, our barrel-fermented Chenin Blanc and our Providence, a fruit-driven Rhône-style red blend, both received Platter’s 4-star ratings.
